Colonels Fall By One In Series Finale At North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University dropped a 1-run decision, 3-2, at North Florida in the series finale on Sunday.
 
Tripp McKinlay's, 1-out, solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Ospreys (16-13, 6-6 ASUN) broke a 2-2 tie.
 
The Colonels (9-23, 6-6 ASUN) took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning.  Conner Davis started it with a single to left.  Max Williams followed with a double to right.  With two on, Ron Franklin Jr. sent a 2-0 pitch down the left field line to bring home both.
 
McKinlay finished 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs for UNF.  Davis was 2-for-4 with a run for the Colonels.  Franklin went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
 
EKU will return home to host Queens for a 3-game conference series starting Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
