Riley Selected to Atlantic Sun Spring Winners for Life Team

ATLANTA  –  Eastern Kentucky University softball outfielder Jeanay Riley has been named to the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Spring Winners for Life Team, announced by the league office on Thursday morning.

Riley, a senior from Louisville, Kentucky, adds another award to one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history where earlier this year she was named the 2024 ASUN Player of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.

Last season, Riley started in all 52 of EKU's games and led the ASUN Conference in batting average (.402), hits (48), doubles (18), triples (5), and total bases (118). She was top 25 in the country in doubles and doubles per game. Riley helped lead EKU to one of its best seasons in program history, ending the campaign in the ASUN Tournament semifinals with a 42-10 overall record, No. 59 final NCAA NET softball rank, and capturing the 2024 ASUN Regular Season Championship.

Additionally, Riley was named to the 2024 ASUN All-Tournament team after leading all batters going 10-for-15 (.667) from the plate with four doubles and two runs batted in.

Riley graduated from EKU this spring with a bachelor's in psychology, concentrating on child and family psychology, while holding a 3.82 GPA in the classroom. She's a two-time Academic All-ASUN honoree and was the first player in program history to record a conference academic superlative award.

Riley departed EKU after four seasons with the program where she was a two-time conference champion, one-time NCAA Tournament participant, and led the team to 118 wins.

Over her career, Riley appeared in 167 games with a .311 batting average, 155 hits, 40 doubles, 15 home runs, 89 RBIs, and scored 115 runs. In the field, Riley had a .960 percentage with 270 putouts, she even appeared in four games as a relief pitcher, ending with a perfect 1-0 record with five strikeouts.
