Soccer Continues Home Stand Against Southern Indiana

EKU Seeking First Win of 2024 Season

RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU soccer continues its home stand on Sunday with a match against Southern Indiana at the EKU Soccer Field.
 
Sunday's fixture is scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. EST and is Back to School Bash at the pitch, any school-aged children will receive a free lunchbox upon arrival courtesy of EKU athletics marketing.
 
Those not able to make the contest can view it live on ESPN+ with Greg Stotelmyer and Wes Chandler on the call.  ESPN+ requires a subscription for access and can be purchased here.

Last time out, EKU suffered a 2-1 loss to Morehead State in the 17th running of the Bluegrass Cup.  Freshman Ana Manning recorded her first collegiate goal just four minutes into the contest, the goal was EKU's first of the 2024 campaign.
 
Manning, a Cincinnati, Ohio product, leads the Colonels with 10 shots on the season, seven of those on target.  Manning enters Sunday's contest 96th in the NCAA and sixth in the Atlantic Sun Conference with her 70 percent shot accuracy.
 
Scouting Southern Indiana
The USI Screaming Eagles enter play on Sunday coming off a 2-2 draw against Robert Morris at home. Through two contests this season, USI is averaging 15 shots per game are have just under a 50 percent shot on goal rate. 
 
Forwards Eva Boer and Payton Seymour have one goal apiece.  Seymour leads the club with six shot attempts this season.
 
History vs. Southern Indiana
Sunday's contest is the first meeting between EKU and Southern Indiana.
