RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU will add two additional volleyball players to the 2025 roster, head coach
Johnna Bazzani announced today. Outside hitters
Emersyn Robbins and
Amanda Mack have signed to play at EKU and will join the program this month.
Â
Robbins redshirted as a freshman at Utah State this past season. The 5-foot-10 Fairfield, Illinois native was a 4-year letterwinner at Fairfield High School. As a senior, she logged 617 kills, hitting .375, while adding 333 digs, 40 aces and 33 blocks. During her career, Robbins totaled 1,878 kills, a .346 attack percentage, 864 digs, 135 aces and 121 blocks. She concluded her prep career ranked second in Illinois High School Association history in career kills.
Â
"Emersyn is a highly competitive athlete who is so driven to win," Bazzani said. Â "She is going to be a great addition to the program and help us continue our success in the ASUN Conference."
Â
Robbins was a 2-time Southern Illinois Player of the Year (2022 and 2023) and was named IVCA First-Team All-State. She ranked sixth in IHSA history for kills in a season and tied for 13th in IHSA history for kills in a single match (31).
Â
In addition to her volleyball success, Robbins also was a 4-year track letterwinner. She played club volleyball at Evansville United where she was named to both the JVA Ultra Ankle and AVCA Phenom Watchlists twice, and was a member of the SPVB All-Tournament team. Robbins helped Evansville United be a 2-time Cincinnati Grand Prix champion, as well as a USAV qualifier.
Â
Mack played in two matches as a freshman at Cincinnati this past season. The Maryville, Tennessee native will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. She moved from Maryville to Bradenton, Florida for her senior year of high school to be a part of IMG Academy's inaugural volleyball season.Â
Â
"Amanda brings a whole new level of experience and high caliber volleyball to our program," Bazzani said. Â "Her height and physicality is what is going to help take us to the next level."
Â
The 6-foot-1 Mack was selected as one of the nation's top seniors to play in the 2024 Under Armour Next All-America game. She was a 2-time Under Armour Next MVP and named an AAU Open All-American. As a 3-year varsity letterwinner at Maryville High School, she made program history by being the first to reach 1,000 kills. Mack garnered first team all-state, all-region and all-district honors as a junior in 2022. She was a 2-time Region and District MVP.
Â
Robbins and Mack join a recruiting class that also includes four high school student-athletes –
Addison Burke,
Emily Melton,
Stella Terpening and
Cassidy Trahan – who signed in November.
Â
Since the start of the 2023 season, the Colonels are a combined 42-19. EKU has posted back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2004 (27-5) and 2005 (23-7).
