CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team returns to Atlantic Sun Conference play facing the conference's newest member institution West Georgia on Wednesday night at The Coliseum.

EKU (11-4, 1-1 ASUN) struggled offensively in its first week of conference play which led to a split against Austin Peay and Lipscomb on the road. The Colonels averaged 60 points per game in their first two ASUN games, which was nearly 13 points lower than the season average.
Senior guard
Kaitlyn Costner enters Wednesday's game with a team-leading and career-best 13.5 points per game after continuing her hot streak with 16 points in the win at APSU and 10 points in the loss to Lipscomb. On the year, the Osceola, Indiana native has ended in double figures in 10 games and has reached career-high totals in rebounds per game (5.0), assists per game (3.1), and made three-point field goals (13).
As of Tuesday, EKU leads the ASUN Conference and is top 80 nationally in assists (238), assists per game (15.9), and assist/turnover ratio (1.02). Senior guard
Alice Recanati leads the conference and is top 75 in the country in all assist values. She is the school leader in career assists at 605 and counting.
Down low, senior forward
Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor opened conference play against APSU and Lipscomb with 25 points, 13 rebounds, one block, and shot over 70 percent from the floor. The Omaha, Nebraska native has career-high values this season in points per game (10.9), rebounds per game (7.9), and has rejected 13 opposing shots.
Scouting West Georgia
UWG enters Wednesday's game with a 6-7 overall record and will be searching for its first win against ASUN opponents after going 0-2 in the opening week against FGCU and Stetson. However, the Wolves are 4-0 at The Coliseum this season, including a 110-49 victory over Brenau University on Dec. 29.
Senior guard Zuriyah Davis leads West Georgia with 14.4 points per game and scored 41 points across two losses to open the league slate.
History vs. West Georgia
Wednesday's matchup in Carrollton is the first meeting between EKU and UWG. After the opening week of conference play, the Colonels are 30-27 all-time against ASUN opponents.
