PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — The Eastern Kentucky University softball team will travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to compete in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, held Feb. 11-14.

EKU is one of four teams competing in the round-robin event, joined by Southern Illinois, UTSA, and Long Beach State.

The Colonels open the tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 11, against Southern Illinois at 2 p.m. This will be the fourth matchup between the programs, with EKU last facing the Salukis in 2022.

EKU returns to action later that evening with an 8 p.m. matchup against UTSA in the first-ever meeting between the programs.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, EKU faces Long Beach State at 5 p.m. in its only contest of the day. The two programs last met in 2012.

Tournament play continues on Friday, Feb. 13, with a 2 p.m. matchup against UTSA, before the Colonels close out the tournament on Saturday, Feb. 14, against Long Beach State at 11 a.m.

All games will be broadcast on the Triple Crown Sports Network. Additional event information, including streaming details and fan activities, will be announced at a later date.
