CLINTON, S.C. — The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing streak when it faces Presbyterian College on Friday night inside the Templeton Center.

After opening the season with a 7-1 record, EKU (7-4) has dropped its last three games against higher-level competition in Arizona (Big 12 Conference), Marshall (Sun Belt Conference) and No. 16 Louisville (Atlantic Coast Conference) as the nonconference schedule winds down.
In its most recent outing, EKU fell 76-51 at No. 16 Louisville despite leading after the first quarter, 19-14, and trailing by just three points, 30-27, at halftime. The Cardinals pulled away in the second half.
Senior guard
Althea Kara Angeles led the Colonels with 10 points, while fellow guard
Ndidiamaka Ndukwe narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.
Sophomore guard
Liz Freihofer continues to pace EKU this season, averaging 14.4 points per game and scoring in double figures in nine of the team's 10 contests. The Union, Kentucky, native posted a season-high 27 points in a win over Midway on Nov. 22.
Entering Friday's matchup, the Colonels rank among the top 100 nationally in more than 11 statistical categories, including No. 25 in 3-pointers made per game, No. 30 in 3-point attempts per game, No. 38 in 3-point percentage defense, No. 40 in defensive rebounds per game and No. 52 in assists per game.
Friday's game marks the second meeting between EKU and Presbyterian. The Colonels won the lone previous matchup, a 61-43 decision at the 2012 EKU Comfort Suites Invitational.
Presbyterian (2-9) enters the contest having lost six straight games, including a 92-36 loss at Virginia Tech on Dec. 10.
