EKU (0-3) drew first blood with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. With two outs and no one on base,
Hayden Duffield singled to right center.Â
Mauri Bejarano followed with a single to first.Â
Tait Nunnally doubled down the right field line to score Duffield.Â
Diego Alana's infield single to short allowed Bejarano to score from third.

South Alabama answered with four in the bottom of the third and led the rest of the way. Kyle Morrison's 2-run triple down the right field line highlighted the frame. USA pulled away with eight runs on six walks and three hits in the sixth inning.

Bejarano and Nunnally each finished with two hits. Nunnally was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.Â

Elijah Underhill allowed four runs on one hit in 4 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out five. The Colonel pitching staff walked a total of 10 batters.

Brennan Holt had a 1-for-2 day with a walk, a run and three RBIs for the Jaguars (3-0).
