RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team is ready to get back to conference action as they head to Louisville, KY to take on Bellarmine on Saturday and Sunday.
The Colonels (19-7, 2-0 ASUN) come into the weekend after dropping a midweek matchup to No. 7 Tennessee, but also having taken the conference-opening series against Central Arkansas last weekend, 2-0.
The three-game series is set for a doubleheader on Saturday with the series finale on Sunday. Saturday's games are slated for 1 PM and 3:30 PM while Sunday's matchup is scheduled for 1 PM.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
Bellarmine comes into the weekend with a 4-14 record (0-3 ASUN) on a seven-game losing streak. Last time out, the Knights fell 0-5 to the Wildcats of Kentucky.
The Knights opened ASUN play last weekend at home, getting swept by Austin Peay - 0-4, 0-2, and 4-6. EKU has had full control of the recent series, winning nine straight since 2022.
In the circle, the Knights have struggled, recording an overall ERA of 3.76 and an opponent batting average of .298 while striking out just 50 batters. Claire Lehmkuhler and Selena Zuniga are tied for most appearances for the Knights at twelve apiece, though Zuniga has yet to start a game while Lehmkuhler has started eleven.
Batting for the Knights, Jadyn Thompson leads the team with an average of .282 with Harlie Bickett close behind at .260. Bickett also leads the Knights in RBIs at seven and total bases with 21.
LAST TIME OUT
The Colonels were shut out by the top ten Lady Vols of Tennessee, 0-8.
Tennessee scored runs in three straight innings to end the game in five. The Colonels created opportunities but could not convert, leaving five runners on base.
