CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team fought hard to secure a 4-3 road win at Austin Peay on Saturday evening at the Governors Tennis Courts.
The Colonels won the doubles point and picked up singles victories on their top three courts. EKU (9-14, 2-3 ASUN) has three Atlantic Sun Conference matches remaining in the regular season.
In doubles, EKU had two 6-4 wins on court Nos. 1 and 3 for the point. Later in singles, the Colonels won on the top three flights to meet the four-point threshold needed to claim the win.
Nuno Pinheiro,
Fernando Bulnes, and
Adrian Contreras all prevailed in singles for the win. Bulnes' court went to three sets where he won in comeback fashion 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 over Sota Minami.
EKU returns to action on Sunday in Louisville against Bellarmine. The match is tentatively scheduled to start after the 11 a.m. ET women's match.
