RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team is headed south this weekend to Birmingham, Ala. for four games at The March to May Tournament hosted by UAB.
In Birmingham, the Colonels will first take on New Orleans and UAB on Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET before facing ASUN foe North Alabama at 9 a.m. and UT Martin at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

EKU enters the tournament with a 3-1 record after opening the 2025 season hosting the Cincy Clash in February.

Scouting the Privateers
New Orleans is 2-6 on the season in 2025 with both wins coming via 5-0 sweeps of Sam Houston and Nicholls.
The Privateers' top pair is Nikelle Lander and Tristin Smith who have gone 3-5 at the No. 1 spot this season through all eight matches in 2025.
The duo are also on a three-match win streak.
UNO edged out the Colonels in their lone meeting in 2024 by a score of 3-2 at the Wheeler Beach Bash in South Carolina.
Scouting the Blazers
This weekend will mark the 2025 home opener for UAB, currently standing at 4-3 on the season with wins over Tulane, New Orleans, Southeastern Louisiana, and Austin Peay.
The Blazers are powered by their top-flight pair of Olivia Stant and Jasmine Haas who are 6-1 and on a six-match winning streak. The pair's only loss this season came in the season opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
This season the duo has only dropped three of 15 total sets played.
As a team, the Blazers are 25-10 in individual matches played.
Scouting the Lions
UNA is 4-4 so far in 2025, and on a three-match win streak as a team recently knocking off UL-Monroe, Southeastern Louisiana, and South Florida this past week.
In that three-match stretch, the Lions only dropped three flights.
The Lions are powered by their two unanimous Preseason All-ASUN selections of Katy Floyd and Selma Robinson.
In 2024, UNA went 3-0 against the Colonels.
Scouting the Skyhawks
UT-Martin travels to Alabama with a 2-2 overall record having won their first two matches of the season against South Florida and Southeastern Louisiana before falling to No. 10 LSU and UL-Monroe.
Through four matches, only one of the Skyhawks' pairs has a winning record in Olivia O'Keefe and Kayla Bryant at 3-1 from the No. 3 spot as the duo recently took the OVC Pair of the Week honors.
In 2024, the Colonels earned their first win ever over the Skyhawks in Birmingham with a dominant 4-1 victory.
