LEXINGTON, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.
 
In the classroom, the Colonels posted a 3.675 GPA during the fall semester before recording a program-record 3.71 GPA in the spring, the highest spring GPA in program history. Six Colonels earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, eight posted GPAs of 3.5 or higher, and 16 earned Colonel Scholar recognition during the spring semester.
 
The award recognizes teams that maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale throughout the academic year's fall and spring semesters.
 
The Colonels enjoyed record-breaking success in both the classroom and the sand, setting a program record with 18 wins. They capped the season with their second-ever ASUN Tournament victory, sweeping Central Arkansas, 3-0.
