EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team took a trip to the Hoosier State and defeated Southern Indiana by a score of 4-1 on Friday evening at the USI Tennis Center.
With the win, EKU (7-11) has won consecutive matches heading into the start of Atlantic Sun Conference play next week. The Colonels decisively won the doubles point over the Screaming Eagles and took three singles courts for the win.
The Colonels took doubles with a 6-1 win on the top flight and followed with a 6-3 results on the second. In singles,
Nuno Pinheiro continued his stellar play with a straight set 6-3, 6-1 win on court No. 1 over Mathys Bove.
Fernando Bulnes would follow with another straight set 6-2, 6-3 win over Axel Sabourin on court No. 2. After dropping a result on four, USI's only point of the match,
Ryan Kitchin clinched the win for the Colonels taking down Adam Koon in two sets with a 7-6, 6-4 win.
