RICHMOND, Ky. – Colby Ott scored from second on an error in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Eastern Kentucky University its third straight win, a 4-3 victory over Lipscomb in the Atlantic Sun Conference series opener on Friday at Earle Combs Stadium.

Ott started the ninth with a single up the middle and then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.Â
Jackson Ginther grounded to the left side of the mound, but an error on the throw to first allowed Ott to come home with the winning run.

Ott finished 3-for-4 with a run scored.Â
Silas Shaffer was also 3-for4.Â

Ryker Walton had the longest outing by an EKU pitcher this season. In eight innings, the senior gave up three runs on six hits, walked four and struck out six. Only two of the runs were earned and he retired the last seven batters he faced.

The Colonels (7-28, 4-9 ASUN) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.Â
Diego Alana leadoff with a walk.Â
AJ Groeneveld followed with a triple into the corner in right field.Â
Tait Nunnally's single brought home Groeneveld.

Alana's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second kept the margin at two, 3-1. Parks Bouck made it a 1-run game in the third with a 2-out, RBI single to right.

The Bisons (13-19, 6-7 ASUN) tied it in the top of the sixth. With two outs and runners at the corners, Ryan Austin punched a single through the right side to bring home David Coppedge and tie the game at 3-3.

Coppedge went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for Lipscomb.
