NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University cut a five run deficit to tow, but couldn't complete the comeback in an 8-5 loss to Lipscomb in the series finale on Sunday.
 
For the third time in the series, the Colonels scored first.  With two runners on and two outs, Dylan Rogers singled through the right side to plate Tait Nunnally and give the visitors a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
 
Lipscomb answered with three runs in the bottom of the second inning and led the rest of the way.  Jacob Tobias tied it with a solo home run.  Parks Bouck capped the inning with an RBI infield single.
 
The Bisons (20-22, 13-8 ASUN) pulled ahead with three more runs in the fourth.  Collin Goda hit a solo home run to lead off the inning and Bouck hit a two run shot over the wall in left field to make it 6-1.
 
Silas Shaffer closed the gap to four with a solo home run in the top of the fifth.  EKU got within two with two runs in the sixth.  Shaffer drove in one with a ground ball.  Mauri Bejarano's single down the left field line brought home Greg Caban and made it 6-4.
 
Rogers went 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Shaffer had one hit in five at bats and drove in two runs.
 
Bouck finished 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs.  Goda had a 2-for-4 game with two runs and an RBI.
 
EKU (8-36, 5-16 ASUN) will play at No. 19 Louisville on Tuesday at 6 p.m.  The game will air live on the ACC Network Extra.
