CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team took a 2-1 lead in the third inning against first place Austin Peay, but the Governors scored the next 11 runs for a 12-2 victory in seven innings in the series finale on Sunday.

Trailing 1-0 after the second inning, the Colonels grabbed the lead in the top of the third. With one out and runners at first and second,
AJ Groeneveld singled through the right side to tie the game. Two batters later,
Silas Shaffer brought home
Diego Alana with a sacrifice fly that made it 2-1.

The Governors (25-7, 11-1 ASUN) retook the lead in the bottom of the frame. With two outs and runners on first and second, a double from Cole Johnson drove in both runners to swing the lead back to the home team 3-2.

Brody Szako's 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth allowed APSU to begin to pull away, going on top 6-2.

Three Colonels had one hit each.Â
Greg Caban was 1-for-1 with two walks and a run scored.

Johnson went 3-for-5 with a run and three RBIs for the Govs.
