Big 7-Run Fourth Sends Colonels To Win Over NKU

Box Score

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Jackson Ginther's grand slam fueled a 7-run fourth inning for Eastern Kentucky University in a 9-6 victory over visiting Northern Kentucky on Tuesday at Earle Combs Stadium.

The Colonels entered the bottom of the fourth trailing 4-2.  Julius Scearce cut the deficit to one with a 1-out RBI single to left field.  With two outs and the bases loaded, Greg Caban singled to right bringing home two runs and putting the home team on top 5-4.  Colby Ott drew a walk to load the bases again.  Ginther sent a 1-2 pitch sailing over the wall in right field to cap the big frame and put his squad ahead 9-4.

EKU took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on a 2-run double to right field off the bat of Tait Nunnally.  Josh Williams tripled with the bases loaded in the top of the third to put the Norse ahead 4-2.
