EKU Beach Prepares for Matches with Tusculum and Morehead State

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball program will conclude its five-match homestand on Tuesday with matches against Tusculum at 10 a.m. and Morehead State at 2 p.m.

The Colonels enter the contests on the heels of a 2-1 weekend hosting the ASUN North Challenge where they earned wins over Austin Peay and Central Arkansas.

The duo of Madalyn Richardson and Riley Cutler led the way for the Colonels going 3-0 in their individual matches, the only pair to do so on the weekend, not dropping a single set across the three matches.

The matchup with the Pioneers will be the first meeting between the Colonels and Pioneers this season, as Tusculum comes to Richmond with an 8-10 record on the season.

The all-time series between the two schools is split at 3-3 with EKU taking the last one in February of 2024.

The Colonels fell in their previous meeting with the Eagles this season, 3-2 back in February. Since then, MSU has improved its record to 11-7.

Over the last 10 matches, the Colonels and Eagles have split them, 5-5.

Following the home action on Tuesday, EKU will head to Atlanta for the Diggin' Duals hosted by Georgia State beginning on Friday, April 11.
