RICHMOND, Ky. – In 2025, the Eastern Kentucky University football team will return most of its receiving group from a year ago headlined by Freshman All-American, Marcus Calwise Jr and redshirt senior Dequan Stanley.
 
In 2024, the Colonels passed for 2,100 yards averaging 161.54 yards per game, scoring 14 touchdowns.
 
"This WR group is a fun group," said wide receivers coach Caleb Cox. "They are challenged every day to grow up and step up. As new guys come into the room, competition will always play its part. Playing without the ball will always be a staple in our program, it has to be your DNA to play wide receiver here."
 
#0 Jakob Dixon | Junior | Louisville, Ky.
 
A native of the Commonwealth, Dixon played in seven games making five starts for the Colonels in 2024.
 
On the season he made 14 receptions for 133 yards including his first collegiate touchdown in the fourth quarter against West Georgia to seal a 26-7 win for EKU.
 
#2 Cameron Hergott | Redshirt Junior | Fort Mitchell, Ky.
 
A newcomer to the position group, but not to EKU, 2025 will mark Hergott's debut at wide receiver transitioning from being a quarterback.
 
A member of the Colonels since 2022, he scored his first touchdown last season on Homecoming last season on a QB-keeper against Utah Tech.
 
#3 Marcus Calwise Jr. | Sophomore | Youngstown, Ohio
 
 A Freshman All-American and three-time UAC Freshman of the Week in 2024, Calwise returns for his sophomore season after leading EKU in receiving statistics a season ago.
 
In 2024, he played in all 13 games making eight starts recording 42 receptions for 526 yards and five touchdowns.
 
His best statistical game came against North Alabama (Nov. 23) with five receptions and 99 yards including a 67-yard catch-and-run touchdown.
 
#6 Ron Vann Jr. | Redshirt Senior | Chula Vista, Calif.
 
Played in 13 games with 11 starts in his first season as a Colonel last season.
 
Hauled in 21 receptions, recording 215 receiving yards averaging 10.2 yards per catch.
 
The California native scored the Colonels' first touchdown the 2024 season on a nine-yard crossing route against Mississippi State.
 
#16 Jackson House | Redshirt Sophomore | Baton Rouge, La.
 
Appeared in all 13 games in 2024, making two receptions for 11 yards in his first season at wide receiver after transitioning from quarterback.
 
#19 Dequan Stanley | Redshirt Senior | St. Augustine, Fla.
 
Played in 10 games, starting in six the now redshirt senior hauled in 27 receptions for 372 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.
 
He recorded a career-high 116 yards and 75-yard touchdown reception against Abilene Christian as well last season.
 
#82 Jayden West | Redshirt Sophomore | Richmond, Ky.
 
2025 will mark the third season for the hometown product at EKU. In 2024, West appeared in all 13 games making five starts.
 
He recorded nine receptions for 83 yards.
 
#83 Mark Joseph | Redshirt Sophomore | Memphis, Tenn.
 
Did not play in 2024.
 
#85 Tyleik Maxwell | Redshirt Sophomore | Winchester, Ky.
 
Played in four games, did not record any statistics.
 
#86 T.J. Mitchell | Redshirt Freshman | Brunswick, Ga.
 
A redshirt last season, Mitchell was a two-star prospect according to On3 posting 1,125 receiving yards on 64 receptions while scoring nine touchdowns in his final high school season.
 
#87 Kyle Vaka | Redshirt Freshman | Johns Creek, Ga.
 
Another redshirt in 2024, Vaka totaled 1,710 all-purpose yards at the 5A level in Georgia in 2023, leading the classification in yards per reception with 23.44.
 
He also added 11 touchdown receptions and was named First Team All-State.
