Knights Beat Colonels In Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University lost to Bellarmine, 10-3, on Friday in game two of the Atlantic Sun Conference series at Knights Field in Louisville.
 
EKU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single down the left field line from Silas Shaffer.  The Knights answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning and led the rest of the way.  Casey Sorg drove in all three with a home run over the wall in right field.
 
Bellarmine scored one run in each of the next five innings and led 8-3 after six.
 
Shaffer had three hits in four at bats with an RBI for the Colonels (11-43, 8-21 ASUN).
 
Sorg's only hit in four at bats was the big first inning home run for Bellarmine (16-38, 10-19 ASUN).  Seth Sweet-Chick went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs on a 2-run home run in the seventh. 
 
The series, and season, finale for both teams is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
