The Wolves welcome the Colonels with a 3-0 record to begin 2025 with wins over Samford, Nicholls, and East Tennessee State under their belts.
THE COLONELS
Through three games in 2025, the Colonels have been led by the "Maroon Doom" defense, which has forced at least two turnovers in each game, including a team-high four in the Colonels' win over Houston Christian.
As a unit, the defense has forced nine turnovers this season, the third-best at the FCS level. As a team, the Colonels have scored 34 points off turnovers this season.
Wide receiver
Jayden West enters Saturday's game coming off a career-best performance at Marshall last week. The Richmond, Ky. native scored his first career touchdown against the Thundering Herd while compiling a game-high 47 yards on three receptions.
The Colonels have found success in the UAC in two seasons of competition, compiling a 10-4 record through two full seasons of play.
Against ranked opponents in 2024, the Colonels went 2-1 with wins over then No. 7 Tarleton State and No. 16 Central Arkansas the following week.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES
No. 22 UWG is at home for the second straight week after a 35-31 come-from-behind win against East Tennessee State.
In the win, the Wolves scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat the Buccaneers.
A team that loves to control the clock, the Wolves have the second-highest time of possession in the FCS at nearly 36 minutes per game.
UWG's offense is fueled by running back Latrelle Murrell, who has racked up 415 yards on the ground, averaging 138.3 yards per game.
Through the air, quarterback Davin Wydner has thrown for 535 yards and five touchdowns, but has also thrown seven interceptions through three games.
The Wolves' defense has been stout in 2025, holding opponents to just 14.7 points per game.
