RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team closed the week with a scoreless draw against North Alabama on Sunday afternoon at the EKU Soccer Field.
The Colonels honored their four-member 2025 senior class during Sunday's match. Seniors
Maddy Murphy,
Sydney Taylor,
Kaitlyn Rowlett and
Emma Spivey were recognized for their contributions to the program.
EKU (7-2-3, 2-1-1 ASUN) earned another point in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings and moved into second place in the ASUN Gold Division with seven points, passing Bellarmine.
With Sunday's result, the Colonels remained unbeaten at home and extended their streak to 12 straight matches without a loss at the EKU Soccer Field. EKU has collected 32 consecutive points at home since September 2024.
The Colonels recorded 13 shots in Sunday's draw, including three on target. Sophomores
Ella Grode and
Avery May led the attack with three shots each.
Freshman goalkeeper
Jordan LeVasseur went the distance in net, finishing with three saves. The Michigan native ranks second in the league in total saves and first in saves per game.
EKU tallied one shot on goal in the first half and two in the second, including a late chance from freshman forward
Rachel Phifer in the 87th minute.
North Alabama (5-3-1, 1-1-1 ASUN) was narrowly outshot, 13-12. LeVasseur denied two first-half opportunities from UNA attackers Lexi Vernsey and Mya Barr.
The Colonels return to action next Sunday when they host Bellarmine at the EKU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
