Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
Kamrin Oriol's jumper with 2.2 seconds left in the game gave the University of North Florida an 87-85 win over visiting Eastern Kentucky University on Thursday.

The Colonels overcame a late 6-point deficit to tie the game.  Oriol's layup with 3:30 left put the Ospreys in front 82-76.  A layup from Montavious Myrick and a 3-pointer from the left wing by Juan Cranford Jr. cut the deficit to one, 82-81.

Oriol's layup and free throw at the 1:21 mark pushed UNF back in front by four, 85-81.  Freshman MJ Williams scored the next two baskets.  After a jumper in the paint, Williams connected on a layup with 45.5 seconds to go to knot the game at 85-85.

Oriol led all players with 32 points.  Myrick had a team-best 19 points to go along with six rebounds.

North Florida entered the game last in the Atlantic Sun Conference in rebound margin at -9.95 per game.  However, the Ospreys won the battle of the boards 38-34 on Thursday.

EKU (7-13, 3-4 ASUN) shot 49% for the game while UNF hit on 51% of its shots.  After hitting 9-of-17 from 3-point range in the first half, the Colonels were just 3-for-11 from deep in the second.

UNF built two 9-point leads in the second half, but each time EKU battled back.  After falling behind 64-55, the Colonels scored eight straight.  Williams finished off the run with a layup, had a steal on the ensuing in-bound pass and made two free throws to draw his squad to within one, 64-63.

Williams finished with 15 points.

The Ospreys (4-16, 2-5 ASUN) scored the next eight to go back in front by nine.  This time a 9-0 run from the Colonels tied the score.  Myrick started it with a free throw and added an old-fashioned 3-point play to make it 72-70.  Williams finished off the run with a layup for a 72-72 game with 7:25 remaining.

A 10-4 run from UNF gave the home team its 6-point lead in the final three and a half minutes.

EKU will conclude its road trip to the Sunshine State on Saturday against Jacksonville University at 3 p.m. ET.
