ARLINGTON, Texas – EKU remained unbeaten in the United Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory at Texas-Arlington on Saturday.

Eastern Kentucky (14-2, 4-0 UAC) won by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-18.

EKU had a 14-6 advantage in blocks and held the Mavericks (7-9, 0-3 UAC) to a .115 attack percentage.

The Colonels scored the first two points of the match and five of the first six.Â
Audrey Hudson's kill made it 10-5. Four unanswered stretched the margin to nine, 15-6, after an ace from
Emilee Hill and a UTA attack error. EKU led by nine, 19-10, after a kill from Hill. A service error from the Mavericks gave the visitors the set 25-18.

Eastern was down 13-12 in the second set before scoring three straight leading to the media timeout. A block from Hill and
Caitlyn Flees, followed by an attack error, pushed the Colonels ahead 15-13. A block from
Alexis Bull and Hudson extended it to 19-15. UTA closed to within one, 23-22, on an attack error. However, kills from Hill and Bull ended the threat.

EKU jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third set. An ace from Hill and a block by
Emma Closurdo capped the fast start. A kill from Closurdo and an ace off the serve of Hudson pushed it to a 9-point lead, 10-1. Texas-Arlington closed to within two, 13-11, on a kill from Emilee Sikora and an attack error. The Mavericks never got any closer. A run of four straight allowed the Colonels to open up a 6-point margin, going in front 20-14 on a block by Closurdo and Bull. EKU finished off the set, 25-18, on a kill from Hill.

Closurdo had a match best 15 kills with a .344 attack percentage and seven blocks. Bull had four kills and nine blocks.Â
Addison Burke contributed 10 kills and nine digs.

Sikora led UTA with 13 kills.

EKU will host a pair of matches at home next week, starting Thursday when Austin Peay comes to Richmond for a 6 p.m. start.
