RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis program extended its winning streak to four defeating in-state rival Western Kentucky 4-2 and Bowling Green 5-2 on Sunday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
With the wins, EKU moves to an even 6-6 on the season and are now 5-3 in true home matches.
The Colonels dominantly won both doubles points on the day, defeating WKU by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 then defeating Bowling Green by 6-4 and 6-3 scores from the top two flights.
EKU then went on to win 8-of-12 singles courts to defeat their regional foes.
Masha Fedenko and
Zhansaya Bakytzhan both went 2-0 on the day leading the charge.
EKU will play their next four matches on the road including three Power 5 Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponents in Mississippi State, No. 4 Auburn, and Arkansas.
