ATLANTA, Ga.- The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team improved to 9-6 on the season after going 2-1 at the Day of Duals.

After dropping their first match of the day the Colonels dominated the rest of the way picking up a 4-1 win over Austin Peay before sweeping Tennessee Tech 5-0.

The Panthers defeated the Colonels in all five flights.

The lone set victory of that match for the Colonels came from Gabreilla Armitage and
Elpida Pitsigkoni, who settled into the match after losing the first set and responding with a 21-13 win in the second set.

Molly Shomock and Riley Culter battled it out in the first set, dropping the match by a total of 4 points, losing 21-19, 24-22.

The Colonels dominated, only losing three sets.

Amanda Floystad and
Sutton Sales were the first pair to get on the board for the Colonels after a smooth sailing 21-11, 21-18 win.

Arilyn Lee and
Zsa Zsa Ferguson weren't far off, making quick work in the first set 21-12 before securing a tightly contested second set 21-18.

Armitage and Pitsigkoni made their third flight debut, dismantling the Governors 21-13 in both sets, securing the win for the Colonels

EKU closed out the match with a three-set victory in the first flight. Shomock and Cutler took the first set 21-18 before dropping the second set, before closing out a decisive third set 15-13.

GAME THREE - EKU, 5 | TENNESSEE TECH, 0
The Colonels rolled to a dominant sweep, taking down Tennessee Tech 5-0 and controlling the match from start to finish. The victory marked a clean performance for EKU, with the Colonels dropping just one set across all five flights.
Floystad and Sales were the first pair to strike for EKU, cruising to a commanding 21-8, 21-11 win in the fourth flight to put the Colonels on the board.
Lee and Ferguson followed right behind in the fifth flight, making quick work of their matchup with a pair of 21-11 set victories to extend the Colonels momentum.
Armitage and Pitsigkoni delivered another strong performance in the third flight, defeating their opponents 21-13, 21-11 to give EKU the win.
Carlyn Mcallister and
Kaiya Ward secured another point in the second flight with a tight 23-21 opening set before closing things out 21-16.
EKU wrapped up the sweep in the first flight as Shomock and Cutler battled back after dropping the opening set, responding with back-to-back wins of 21-16 and 15-10 to seal the Colonels 5-0 victory.
