RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team is set to host Conference foe Bellarmine for a three-game series from March 21-22.

The series will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by the finale on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Sunday's matchup is set for 1 p.m.

Broadcast coverage will be available for all Saturday games on ESPN+, while live stats will be available for every game throughout the weekend.

The Colonels (13-14, 2-1 ASUN) enter the weekend after defeating Austin Peay in their conference-opening series. EKU dropped the first game before rallying to take the final two and secure the series victory.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS

Bellarmine enters the weekend at 9-17 overall (2-1 ASUN) after picking up a series win over Lipscomb.

The Colonels are currently on a 14-game winning streak against Bellarmine dating back to 2022. Last season, EKU swept the Knights to close out the regular season, winning 2-0 and then 10-3 on a run rule.

The Knights have faced some familiar foes this season, picking up wins over IU Indy and Middle Tennessee, but have dropped two games against Northern Kentucky.

In the circle, Bellarmine has faced challenges, posting a 5.51 ERA while allowing opponents to hit .335 and recording 100 strikeouts on the season. Makenzie Cowburn and Lele Bennett lead the Knights with 19 and 18 appearances.

At the plate, the Knights are led by Kendall Gaddie and Tia Ice, who have produced nearly identical numbers this season. Both have 28 hits, 13 RBIs, and 40 total bases.

Kennedy Drafton's two-RBI double in the bottom of the fifth inning sealed the win for EKU.
