CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team saw its historic 2025-26 season come to an end in the second round of the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) with a 63-34 loss to Harvard on Sunday afternoon.
 
EKU finishes the season with a program-record 25 victories and will enter the offseason looking to extend its streak of 20-win seasons to four straight years.
 
Senior forward Joseana Vaz led the Colonels with 13 points and nine rebounds in the final game of her collegiate career. Freshman guard Kenleigh Woods added eight points in the scoring column.
 
As a team, EKU shot 23.7 percent (14-of-59) from the field and 5.3 percent (1-of-19) from 3-point range, marking the sixth-lowest single-game field goal percentage in program history.
 
Harvard (20-11) advances to the WBIT quarterfinals and will face Wisconsin on March 26. The Crimson placed four players in double figures, led by Katie Krupa's 15 points.
 
EKU fell behind 16-0 to open the contest and did not convert its first field goal until the 1:57 mark of the first quarter. The Colonels trailed 19-2 after one quarter and 32-11 at halftime following a 13-9 second period.
 
EKU showed improved play in the second half but was unable to overcome the early deficit as Harvard secured the 29-point, 63-34, victory.
 
The Colonels now turn their attention to the offseason, where they will look to replace a five-member senior class that accounted for 52 percent of the team's scoring production.
