NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis program came up victorious on the road defeating old conference foe Belmont by a score of 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex.
With the win, EKU improves to 8-12 on the season and won its third road game in the 2025-26 campaign.
The Colonels jumped out to a hot start winning the doubles points with a 6-4 win on court two and 6-1 win on court three.
In singles, Belmont (1-12) made the match a close contest winning three courts, but EKU prevailed on the lower three flights for the 4-3 win.
Marilou Cote defeated Ketevan Jeladze in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 on court three.
Izem Elif Olcer defeated Libbie Hamilton in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 on court four and
Anastasiia Cherniakova won in two sets 7-6, 6-2 on court six to meet the points threshold.
EKU returns to action on March 27 with a doubleheader at two true road venues facing Saint Louis at 11 a.m. ET and finishing the day at SIU Edwardsville at 4 p.m.
