JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The ASUN Conference announced its weekly award winners, and
Victoria Byrum earned recognition for the second time this season.
The junior was dominant throughout the weekend, leading EKU to a series victory over Bellarmine on her way to being named ASUN Pitcher of the Week.
Across two appearances, Byrum posted a 1.17 ERA with 20 strikeouts, allowing just two hits and two earned runs over 12.0 innings. She threw 181 pitches and held opposing hitters to a .051 batting average.
Byrum delivered one of the best outings of her career on Saturday, tossing a no-hitter while striking out 10 batters to tie her career high. She allowed just one walk in the performance on an 8-0 run rule victory.
She followed that effort with another standout showing, again recording 10 strikeouts and not surrendering a hit until the sixth inning.
The honor marks Byrum's second ASUN Pitcher of the Week award this season, after previously earning the recognition on March 9.
