The Cardinals (18-11) tied it on Jimmy Nugent's RBI double down the left field line in the top of the third inning.  UofL began to pull away with six runs in the fourth.  Ben Slanker capped the big frame with a grand slam over the wall in left center for a 10-4 lead.

A 2-run home run for the Colonels (8-21) in the bottom of the sixth off the bat of Scearce closed the gap to six again, 13-7.  However, Louisville scored four times in the top of the seventh to put the run rule in effect.
