BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — After a nine-game home stand, the Eastern Kentucky University softball team will travel for a pair of midweek games against Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.
The Colonels open at Western Kentucky at 7 p.m. ET. Tuesday, then face Middle Tennessee at 2 p.m. ET. Wednesday.
THE COLONELS
EKU improved to 11-11 on the season after going 7-2 during its nine-game home stretch. The Colonels wrapped up the EKU Invitational on Sunday with a 4-1 record, closing the weekend with a 9-6 comeback win over Northern Kentucky.
Victoria Byrum excelled in the circle, appearing in three games and going 2-0 with a 0.45 ERA over 15.2 innings. She allowed just one earned run on 10 hits, struck out 17, and held opposing hitters to a .179 average.
Lilly Davis also had a standout week, going 7-for-13 with two doubles, 11 RBIs, and three home runs for a .538 average.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Western Kentucky enters at 18-3 and is riding a 13-game winning streak. The Hilltoppers are 12-0 at home this season.
Junior Annie White leads the Hilltoppers at the plate, hitting .468 with a .871 slugging percentage. She has 27 RBIs, seven home runs and four doubles.
In the circle, Erica Houge leads Western Kentucky with a 9-1 record, 41 strikeouts and a .154 opponent batting average.
Middle Tennessee enters at 11-10 on a three-game winning streak after sweeping Kennesaw State.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The all-time series between EKU and Western Kentucky is tied at 14, with the Colonels winning the last two meetings. EKU's most recent win was a 5-1 victory in 2025.
The Colonels have not played Middle Tennessee State since 2013, when the teams split a doubleheader.
