CONWAY, Ark. – Ricco Longo hit his second home run of the season but Eastern Kentucky University lost, 8-3, at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
The game remained scoreless until the Bears manufactured a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. After two walks and a sacrifice bunt, Jack Runsick drove in the first run with a ground out to second base.
UCA scored a run in the fifth and then put two on the board in the sixth when Runsick hit a 2-run home run, pushing the home team in front 4-0.
Ricco Longo got the Colonels (10-29, 4-13 ASUN) on the board with a solo home run with one out in the seventh. An RBI single by
Kobe Benson made it a 4-2 game.
Central Arkansas (21-18, 9-8 ASUN) answered by scoring four runs combined in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.
Khaleel Pratt finished 2-for-4 for EKU. Longo was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Runsick had a 2-for-4 game with one run and three RBIs for the Bears.
