Box Score (pdf)

RICHMOND, Ky. –
On Senior Day, a pair of junior pitchers combined to shutout Lipscomb, 2-0, to even the Atlantic Sun Conference series on Saturday at Earle Combs Stadium.

Redshirt junior Jacob Price pitched seven scoreless innings, limiting the visitors to four hits.  He walked one and struck out a season-high eight batters.  Junior Griffin Howell pitched the final two innings, allowing three hits and one walk, but no runs.

The Colonels (12-35, 5-18 ASUN) grabbed an early lead in the bottom of the first.  With two outs and a runner at second, Dylan Littlefield singled to center for a 1-0 edge.

Lipscomb (20-23, 13-10 ASUN) tried to score the tying run from second base on an infield single in the top of the fifth inning, but Jackson Cauthron delivered a perfect throw to catcher Boone Shevey to get the runner at the plate.  With the tying run at third and two outs in the top of the sixth, Price got a strikeout on three pitches to end the threat.

The Colonels made it 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh.  With two outs, Shevey kept the inning alive with a single off the pitcher's back.  Kobe Benson followed with a single up the middle and Shevey moved to third.  After a pitching change, Pedro Moreno drove in Shevey with a single through the right side.

With runners on the corners and one out in the top of the eight, Griffin got a ground ball up the middle.  Benson flipped to Moreno who relayed to first for the inning-ending double play.  Lipscomb got runners on first and second with two outs in the ninth before a ground ball to third ended the game.

Littlefield finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Brady Miller had a 3-for-4 game for the Bisons.  Lipscomb starter Jace Trautner pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on four hits.  He walked two and struck out five.

The final home game of the 2026 season will be Sunday at 1 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN+.  Sunday is Junior Colonel Club Day with members getting into the game for FREE.  Kids have a chance to be the "Play Ball" kid, guest public address announcer and can run the bases after the game.  The Kids Day Combo includes a hot dog, chips and drink for $8.
