CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After conceding two goals in the first half, the Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Chattanooga on Sunday at Finley Stadium.
 
Peyton Smith appeared to score the equalizer in the 72nd minute after finding a loose ball in the box following a free kick, but the goal was called off for offside.
 
Freshman Ronnie Ariel scored the Colonels' lone goal in the 20th minute, receiving a through ball from Smith on the left side and lofting a shot over the goalkeeper to tie the match at 1-1.
 
Sophomore Jordan LeVasseur suffered the loss in net, going the full 90-minute distance with four saves on the day.
 
Chattanooga struck in the opening minute of the game when Emma Reeves found Savannah Dunahay in the box. Dunahay placed a shot into the right corner to give the Mocs an early lead.
 
Ariel's goal in the 20th minute tied things up, scoring her first collegiate goal off Smith's second assist of the season.
 
Chattanooga scored the game-winning goal in the 38th minute when Ayden Wood sent a ball across the box from the right side, finding Landry Olson at the back post for the finish.
 
After halftime, the Mocs held a 6-3 advantage in shots and attempted two more corner kicks than EKU. Chattanooga finished the match with a 15-8 advantage in shots and held 53% of the possession.
 
EKU returns home to face Miami (Ohio) at 4 p.m. ET Thursday at the EKU Soccer Field. Admission to the pitch is free, and fans unable to attend can watch the match live on ESPN+.
