LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – EKU won its seventh straight match, and completed a 2-0 road trip to start United Athletic Conference play, with a 3-0 victory at Little Rock on Saturday.
The Colonels (12-2, 2-0 UAC) won by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-21.
EKU scored six of the first seven points in the first set, including back-to-back aces off the serve of
Cassidy Trahan. A run of five straight by the Colonels midway through put the set out of reach. An ace from
Emilee Hill capped it and gave her squad an 18-7 lead.
Cooper Abney's ace finished off the opener, 25-15.
Little Rock scored the first four points of the second set, but Eastern came right back and scored four straight to tie it. From that point, neither team led by more than three points in the set.
Emma Closurdo tied it at 22-22 late with a kill. That began a 4-0 run to end the set for EKU.

Addison Burke teamed for a block, and an ace from Trahan finished it off 25-22.
The third set was close throughout as well. The Colonels took the lead for good on a block from Hill and
Alexis Bull that put the visitors up 15-14. An ace from Burke extended the margin to three, 21-18. After the Trojans closed it to 23-21, Eastern Kentucky scored the final two points. A kill from Closurdo ended the set, 25-21, and the match.
Trahan finished the match with four aces, 13 digs and three assists. Closurdo led all players with 13 kills. She had only one error in 20 attempts for a .600 attack percentage. Burke had 14 digs and two blocks. Bull had four kills and four blocks.
Audrey Hudson totaled 10 kills.
Eastern had 11 aces, compared to only one for the Trojans. The Colonels out-hit UALR .347 to .252.
Lovina Teel had 13 kills for Little Rock (6-8, 0-2 UAC).
The Colonels will return home to host Tarleton on Thursday at Baptist Health Arena.
