AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007-08
Joined the team in December … played in five games … played a total of 12 minutes … scored three points off of a three-pointer against Morehead State on Jan. 10 … earned the Ohio Valley Conference Medal of Honor, which is given annually to the student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average in a conference-sponsored sport … also earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL
Won two national championships with Escuela Pedagogica Experimental (2004 and 2005) … finished second in the national championship tournament in 2006 … placed fourth in the South America tournament in 2004.

Full name is Laura Becerra … born June 30, 1989 … daughter of Nelson Becerra and Beatriz Cuervo … has one brother, Sergio, and one sister, Irene … plans to major in political science.
