2010 (Junior): Started all 19 games and became the first Colonel ever to play every minute of every game during the season (1,780 minutes) … ‘The Iron Woman’ of EKU soccer was a pivotal force on a Colonel backline that surrendered only six goals in eight Ohio Valley Conference games and recorded six shutouts on the year.
2009 (Sophomore): Played the most minutes (1,361) of any returning non-goalkeeper on the team … played every minute of 12 games during the year … again proved to be one the Colonels’ most steady defenders … played in 17 games and started 14 games on a backline that allowed just five goals during eight regular season OVC games and recorded seven shutouts on the year … attempted one shot during the year, and it was on goal.
2008 (Freshman): Became a fixture on the Colonel backline in just her first season at EKU … played in all 19 games and started 16 of them … recorded the game-winning assist to Laura Caldon in the Colonels’ 1-0 victory over conference opponent Southeast Missouri State (Oct. 12) … named to the OVC All-Tournament team following her gutsy performance in the Colonels’ shootout defeat to UT Martin in the first round.
High School and/or Club Experience: Varsity soccer MVP from 2002-08 … in the spring of 2008, her team won the CISAA Championships … she was named Captain and awarded MVP … also received a Distinction (the highest possible athletic award) for her contribution to the team … Murray was a club teammate of Heather Bruce on the Mississauga Dixie Saints.
