Previous College Experience: Graduate transfer goalkeeper from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan....started 16 games in goal during her Oakland career.

High School/Club Experience: A standout keeper at Rocky River High School in northern Ohio...played club soccer with the Cleveland Ambassadors...voted all-district and conference Goalkeeper of the Year during her junior and senior campaigns...on a Division-II state championship at Rocky River High as a freshman in 2013.

Personal: Born July 2, 1998...daughter of Amy Krueger and Carl Braun...will graduate this May with a degree in clinical and diagnostic sciences...pursuing a masters of public health at EKU

Get to Know Sophia Braun...

If she could live anywhere, it would be: Kailua, Hawaii—my first hometown and the most beautiful and my most favorite place I’ve ever been to!

Her proudest accomplishment: I am most proud and grateful for getting to play a division 1 sport and being able to get my bachelor’s degree, and now still get to play and work
towards my masters.

What would she sing at Karaoke night: Whatever my partner wanted to sing, because there’s no way I sing in public by myself!

What would she do if she won the lottery: I would take care of my parents and grandparents, pay for my sister’s school, get a dog, travel and save/invest the rest... and I wouldn’t tell anyone I won!

If she could have one meal for the rest of her life, it would be: Buttered noodles with shrimps

Where do you see yourself in five years: In my second or third year of medical school, and studying lots and lots! Also taking lots of walks with my (future) dogs and hopefully getting to travel more during the summers!
