Brandon Love was chosen as EKU's assistant coach in the summer of 2019.

Love joined the program from the University of Pacific where he was an interim assistant coach/video & analytics specialist. During his time at Pacific he helped with evaluating and recruiting potential student athletes, conducted fundamental workouts, managed the digital acquisition of basketball practices and games, and developed collateral for recruiting, social media and scouting opponents.

“Brandon is a very smart, energetic young coach with a bright future in the business,” said Williams. “His recruiting ties are something that will make an immediate impact for the program.”

With Love’s assistance, the Tigers finished last season ranked 39th in the country in steals per game, and 56th in the country in points per game. Pacific ranked first in the conference in steals per game, steals, turnover margin and turnovers forced.

“He has a passion for the game that is contagious,” said Williams. “As well as being someone who excels at building meaningful relationships with the players he coaches.”

Love worked at the AR Amateur Basketball Foundation before joining the staff at Pacific. During his time from March 2013 to July 2017 he worked with creating and implementing skill development plans for the athletes and serving as a head coach for the both men’s and women’s summer basketball teams. He trained the 2018 No. 1 high school recruit and the likes of NBA player Malik Monk.

“Brandon’s strong player development training and positive energy will be a tremendous asset to our program,” said coach Williams.

Before getting into coaching, Love graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies. He was also a student manager from 2008-2011. After getting his bachelor’s, he completed his master’s in teaching at the University of Arkansas of Monticello.
