Biography

2018 (Junior): Appeared in 17 games, making three starts … played a season-high 96 minutes in the win over rival Morehead State on Oct. 2 … also played 87 minutes in a 1-1 draw with conference foe Southeast Missouri on Sept. 27 … helped the EKU defense to six clean sheets for the year, four of which came against conference opponents … attempted her lone shot of the season at ETSU on Aug. 21.

2017 (Sophomore): Played in 12 games before suffering a season-ending injury at SIUE on October 1 … came off the bench to play a season-high 41 minutes against Gardner-Webb on September 8 … attempted her lone shot of the season in the win at IUPUI on August 27.

2016 (Freshman): Appeared in 17 games as a freshman, starting five of them … made her first career start at VMI on August 27 and played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 shutout … attempted her lone shot of the season at Murray State on October 9 … calmly buried the game-winning penalty kick in a shootout against Tennessee Tech in the OVC semifinals on November 4, sending EKU to the OVC Tournament title game for the first time ever … won EKU’ s “Play of the Year” award for her PK.

High School and/or Club Experience: The daughter of an Army officer, Heslop attended three high schools, most recently being named all-region at Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina in 2014 ... won a state championship as a freshman at Heathwood Hall School in Columbia, South Carolina in 2013 ... plays club soccer for Carolina Elite, and she brings multiple years of South Carolina ODP regional camp experience with her to Richmond.

Personal: Born October 1, 1998 ... daughter of Larry and Juanda Heslop ... a member of EKU's renowned Honors Program ... has maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in anthropology and a minor in international business ... is currently working on her Honors thesis, which focuses on the difficulties of reentry after incarceration in Kentucky. ... named the 2019 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year for women's soccer by the publication Diverse: Issues in Higher Education ... in the summer of 2018, she was a volunteer research assistant at the Interdisciplinary Behavioral Research Center at Duke University ... has studied abroad in England, Israel and Egypt while at EKU.
