Ashley Smith joined the athletics department as an athletic trainer in August 2018 and works primarily with women’s basketball.
Before joining the staff at EKU, Smith served as an assistant athletic trainer at Hendrix College from August 2014 to July 2018. She worked with men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, lacrosse, track and field and softball.
Before her time at Hendrix College, Smith was a graduate assistant at Marshall University. She worked with women’s soccer and track and field during her time at Marshall.
Smith is a National Athletic Trainers’ Association certified athletic trainer, Board of Certification certified athletic trainer, a member of the Kentucky Athletic Training society and the Southeastern Athletic Training association. Smith got her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University in May 2012 and her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Marshall University in the spring of 2014.
