Josh Randall joined the EKU Sports Performance department in October 2017 as assistant director.
Randall served as the director of strength and conditioning at the University of Virginia Wise from July to October. He directed student-athletes in all aspects of strength and conditioning for all 12 teams, mentored and taught techniques to the football strength coach, and instructed corrective exercise and lifting techniques for all student-athletes.
From August 2015 to July 2017, Randall was the assistant athletic performance coach at Gardner-Webb University. He implemented and/or oversaw the implementation of programs for wrestling, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s tennis, cheerleading, softball and women’s lacrosse. He assisted with football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, and volleyball. While at Gardner-Webb, he trained two swimmers who qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials. He also trained the 2015-16 Southern Conference wrestling champions.
Randall has also served as an intern at the University of Alabama, as head strength coach at the University of West Alabama and assistant strength coach at West Alabama. While at Alabama, he worked directly with the 2016 national championship football team.
Randall earned a bachelor’s of science in athletic training from West Alabama in May 2014. He completed a master’s in exercise science at West Alabama in May 2015. He is a NCSA certified strength and conditioning specialist and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
