Corey Walden is "quietly" putting together a spectacular season. He's earned OVC Player of the Week three times this season, but each time he has shared it with another conference player. As of Jan. 14, Walden is the only player in the league to be ranked in the top-10 in scoring, field goal percentage, assists and steals.
Earlier this season he became the 33rd player in school history to score 1,000 points as a Colonels. He set a new career-high with 33 points at Southern Utah and then matched that number at Coppin State.
The senior had 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in EKU's 28-point victory at No. 18 Miami.
Walden recently shot 62 percent from the field and averaged 22 points during EKU's OVC road sweep of UT Martin and Southeast Missouri.
