RICHMOND, Ky.  - Sophomore Amy Arlinghaus tallied 13 kills and hit .481 to lead the Eastern Kentucky volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep (30-28, 30-18, 30-23) of Tennessee State Thursday night and a share of first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with the Lady Tigers. The Colonels (19-6, 11-2) won their 23rd straight home match and snapped TSU's (19-10,11-2) 11-match OVC win streak.
Junior Jessica Sabath registered a match-high 14 kills for the Colonels who hit .390 for the match, and sophomore Shelly George added 10 kills. Sophomore Brittany Nobilio tallied a match-high 18 digs. 
EKU trailed in the early stages of game one, before finally taking their first lead at 19-18 on an ace from freshmen Andrea Wesley. With the game tied at 28, EKU got a kill from Sabath, and a block from George and junior Kasha Brozek to take the game, 30-28. 
EKU never trailed in game two, ending the game on a 15-6 run and hitting a match-high .482.
Game three was tight most of the way before Eastern finally took the lead for good at 19-18 on another kill from George, sparking a four-point run that gave the Colonels their largest lead of the game to that point. TSU would get no closer than three the rest of the way.
Kelly Davis led the Lady Tigers with 14 kills while Kara Keifer added a team-high 13 digs.
The Colonels return to action tomorrow, Nov.  4, hosting Austin Peay at 7 p.m.
