NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky’s volleyball team trailed two games to none and 28-27 in the third game before staging a comeback to defeat Tennessee State, 3-2, Tuesday night.  The Colonels (3-19, 2-10 OVC) won the final three points of game three, held off the Lady Tigers in game four and the jumped out in front 9-3 to take control of the fifth game.  TSU (11-10, 9-3 OVC) entered the match in a three-way tie for first atop the conference standings.  
Game scores were 24-30, 19-30, 30-28, 30-28 and 15-10.
Junior Amanda Wilson finished with a match-high 21 kills and a .273 attack percentage.  Freshman Amanda Fago totaled 18 kills.  Bridget Mustard and Leah Nelson added 13 and 10 kills respectively.  Freshman Kate Hendle finished with 54 assists and 18 digs.  Senior Brittany Nobilio led all players with 23 digs.  Freshman Abby O’Connor added 14 digs and three aces.
Endia Oliver led Tennessee State with 19 kills while Collese Doran and Kelly Davis added 17 and 16 kills.  
After falling behind 2-0, Eastern Kentucky led 15-9 in game three but the Lady Tigers battled back and eventually tied the match at 23-23.  Tennessee State led by one on four occasions but Eastern used a service error and an attack error by TSU, sandwiched around a kill by Mustard, to win the game.
Back-to-back kills by Fago and Wilson allowed EKU to close out game four with a 30-28 win.  After TSU won the first point in the fifth game, the Colonels used an 8-1 run to grab the lead.  Eastern’s run included three kills by Wilson.  Fago ended the match with three straight kills to complete the comeback.
The Colonels will return to action on Saturday when they face Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.  The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
