RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team picked up its second win of the season Tuesday night with a 56-38 decision over Thomas More College. This was the just the second ever meeting between the two programs.

Adam Leonard led EKU (2-0) with 13 points while fellow sophomore
Josh Daniel added 10 points off the bench. Six Colonels contributed a three-pointer in Eastern's seventh consecutive home victory.
The visiting Saints kept the score close throughout the first half, mainly behind Mark Tinklenberg's three-point shooting. Tinklenberg connected on 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) shots from behind the arc and posted 17 points at the break. Junior
Mike Rose's jumper at 10:16 gave the Colonels their biggest lead in the opening stanza, 21-8. However, three consecutive Tinklenberg three-pointers cut the Thomas More deficit to four points. The host Colonels managed just two field goals in the final six minutes, but still took a 33-26 edge into intermission.
Eastern's defense stepped up its play in the second half, holding Thomas More to only six points in the first 18 minutes of action. The Saints were 4-of-26 (15.4 percent) overall from the field and missed their first 14 three-point attempts. EKU began the half with a 13-2 run, capped off by sophomore
Josh Taylor's lone three-point bucket at 10:48, to pull away for good.
This game counted as an exhibition contest for Thomas More.
Eastern Kentucky's next game is a challenging road test at East Tennessee State on Saturday, Nov. 17. The Bucs won the 2006-07 Atlantic Sun regular season title. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
