RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky fell to Morehead State, 3-0, tonight in Ohio Valley Conference action at McBrayer Arena. The Eagles (17-2, 8-0 OVC) won the first two sets by a combined eight points, before closing out the match over the Colonels (3-14, 2-6 OVC) with an 11-point win in the third set. 
Game scores were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-14. 
Kaitlin Craven led Morehead State with a double-double. She finished 13 kills, a .414 attack percentage and 17 digs. Ashley Doscher also recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Kristina Schoo posted a team-high 18 digs. Katelyn Barbour led the Eagles with a match-high 24 assists and also added 12 digs. 
Lindsey Loescher's nine kills led Eastern Kentucky. 
Hannah Groudle had four blocks. 
Abby O'Connor totaled a match-high 26 digs. 
Craven’s kill in the first set gave the Eagles a six-point lead, 16-10. The Colonels battled back. A kill by Loescher followed by a MSU attack error cut the deficit to one, 21-20. Morehead State scored the final three points of the set ,off three EKU attack errors, to jump out in front 1-0. 
In the second set, Loescher’s kill gave Eastern its first lead of the set at 10-9. Craven pushed Morehead State back on top, 13-12, with a kill. A 3-0 Colonel run, including a kill by 
Amanda Wilson and an ace from 
Jill Henneman, gave EKU a 19-16 lead. An attack error by MSU gave Eastern Kentucky a four-point advantage, 21-17, but the home team didn’t score again. The Eagles scored the final eight points of the set, six points off Eastern errors, to go up 2-0. 
Four straight points to begin the third set gave Morehead State an advantage that Eastern could never overcome. An EKU attack error gave the Eagles a seven-point lead, 14-7. Another 4-0 run, including back-to-back kills by Holly Evans, pushed the lead to nine, 19-10. A kill by Barbour finished off the set and the match. 
Morehead State hit .164 for the match. The Colonels posted a .024 attack percentage. 
Eastern Kentucky polishes off its four-match home stand on Friday against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 7 p.m.
