Play Suspended With EKU Men's Golf In Second At Ball State

Round One Results

MUNCIE, Ind. –
Eastern Kentucky is tied for second at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, hosted by Ball State University. EKU was one of four teams still on the course when the second round was suspended due to darkness. The Colonels were 16-over par when play was halted, tied with Ball State and five shots behind Bowling Green State. Both of those teams had already completed the second round.

The second round will be completed beginning at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The third round of the 54-hole event will begin immediately following the conclusion of round two.

Eastern Kentucky finished the first 18 holes with a 10-over 290, tied for second with Ball State and six shots behind Bowling Green’s four-over 284. The Colonels were six-over in round two when play was suspended.

Senior Jesse Massie led the Colonels, and tied for seventh overall, with a one-over 71 in the first round. Senior Brandon Berry (72) and freshman Brian Fister (72) were tied for 14th at two-over at the end of round one. Shaun McConnell (75) and Trey Bowling (77) were tied for 34th and 49th respectively.

The Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational is being contested at the Delaware Country Club, a par-70, 6,438-yard course.
