MURRAY, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s soccer team picked up another point in the conference standings by going on the road and tying Murray State, 0-0, Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field. It was the Colonels’ fourth shutout in six conference games so far this season.
“It was a fun game and we’re happy to go on the road and come away with a point in the conference standings,” head coach Lindsay Basalyga said. “We’re also happy to be at home next weekend for two games that should have major OVC Tournament implications.”
The Colonels (4-9-3, 1-2-3 OVC) were outshot on the day, 19-13, but did take four shots in overtime compared to the Racers (5-7-2, 3-2-1 OVC) one.

Heather Bruce and freshman forward Chelsea Walter all attempted two shots during the game.

Stephanie Lynch recorded her fifth shutout of the season and made a season-high nine saves in the process.
Murray State keeper Tara Isbell recorded eight saves on the day.
“Stephanie Lynch played a great game and made some clutch saves for us,” Basalyga said. “Murray State’s keeper had some excellent saves as well.”
The Colonels return to action on Friday, Oct. 23 when they host Eastern Illinois at 4:00 p.m. at EKU Soccer Field.
